Levi's has partnered with Lalaland.ai, a digital fashion studio, to test artificial intelligence (AI)-generated models and allow users to see how clothes fit on different body types. The technology will display a wide variety of models with different physical characteristics to help shoppers get a better idea of how they will look in the clothes.
Global Head of Digital and Emerging Technology Strategy at Levi Strauss & Co, Amy Gershkoff Bolles, has noted that while AI will likely never completely replace human models, they are excited about the possibilities it offers to improve the customer experience. The brand sees fashion and technology as a combination of art and science and hopes that the partnership with Lalaland.ai will help them achieve a more diverse and inclusive customer experience.
Levi's has made it clear that while they are excited about AI-generated technology, they do not see it as a one-size-fits-all solution. The company plans to test the technology at end of this year to sustainably improve the number and diversity of models available.
